Climate Change Updates

The 1997 Forest Plan provides no recognition of global warming or climate change. There is uncertainty over what assumptions should be considered regarding climate change and on the effects of climate change on Forest planning decisions; yet assumptions need to be made. Because of the differing viewpoints on this issue, consultation was conducted with Pacific Northwest Research Station scientists. Literature review was conducted and the potential effects, including the associated risk and uncertainty, were presented in the Final EIS, and appropriate edits were made in the 2008 amended Forest Plan.
