State Transportation and Utility Routes Updates
In 1999, the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities published the
Southeast Alaska Transportation Plan. Additional transportation routes and utility corridors
have been proposed by the Southeast Conference and cities and boroughs. Many of these
routes/corridors are not identified in the 1997 Forest Plan Transportation and Utility System
(TUS) Land Use Designation (LUD). The Forest Service worked closely with the State of Alaska and
those routes that meet the Forest Plan requirements for major
transportation or utility system routes were added to the Forest Plan LUD Map as TUS LUDs. Being included
on the map does not authorize the route or corridor, but serves as a
place-holder reflective of the potential interest.
Work Product(s): New routes shown on the amended Forest Plan LUD Map.
